Spell Express is the simplest dictionary software in the review. It is a dictionary and thesaurus and doesn’t include anything fancy, just the definition and parts of speech. One nice feature is you can cut and paste any text into the window and perform a spell check. So, whether you’re writing a document or an email you’ll never have to worry about your spelling.

This program runs as a small tab in the lower left corner of your screen. When you click on the tab, you’ll have access to the thesaurus and a dictionary with 138,000 terms. You can either drag and drop a word into the search window or type it in.

If you need help, Spell Express has a tutorial help section and a link to their website where you’ll find an email address so you can contact customer service.

If you’re looking for a very basic dictionary and thesaurus, this might get the job done. However, for nine dollars less, you can get the Bronze Award Winning product.
